Conventional nutrition often looks at calories in and calories out, or gives general guidelines like “eat more fruits and vegetables.” Functional nutrition digs deeper. I look at the whole picture—your labs, symptoms, history, and lifestyle—to uncover root imbalances that may be driving your health challenges. It’s not just about what you eat, but also how your body is processing, absorbing, and using those nutrients.

Root cause means we’re not just chasing symptoms. For example, instead of recommending iron supplements because you’re anemic, we’d ask: Why are you low in iron? Is it digestion? Absorption? Blood sugar imbalance? Chronic inflammation? By asking “why” at every level, we can truly correct the foundation instead of applying short-term fixes.

Functional lab testing provides deeper insight into health by uncovering hidden imbalances that routine tests often miss. It helps identify root causes of symptoms, allowing for personalized nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations to restore balance and support long-term wellness.

Our first session is all about you. We’ll go over your health history, your current concerns, and your goals. If you have recent labs, we’ll review them. I’ll start identifying patterns, and together we’ll create a step-by-step plan to begin moving forward. You’ll walk away with actionable next steps, not just “talk.”

Each plan begins with a comprehensive intake and health history review. Lab results are then analyzed to identify specific needs. Using this information, a customized strategy is built, including food, supplements, and lifestyle recommendations tailored to individual goals and challenges.

Most clients work with me in a structured package (Lite, Standard, or Gold). Healing takes time, and I’ve learned that a one-time session doesn’t allow enough space for true transformation. Ongoing support ensures we can adjust your plan, track progress, and celebrate wins along the way.

The comprehensive program lasts 16 weeks, providing ongoing support through check-ins at weeks 4, 8, and 12, with a final session at week 16. This structure offers accountability and adjustments while ensuring sustainable progress toward lasting health and wellness.

No cookie-cutter diets here. Instead, I’ll help you discover what foods work best for your body. Sometimes that looks like a therapeutic approach (keto, paleo, AIP), but more often, it’s a whole-food, personalized plan you can actually sustain.

Not at all. Supplements are tools to restore balance more quickly, but food and lifestyle are the foundation. Many clients eventually reduce or rotate off supplements as their body regains balance.

Many of my clients come to me after years of frustration. By combining advanced testing with a root-cause approach, we often uncover issues that were previously overlooked. My job is to find the why and create a plan that finally makes sense for your body.

Every journey is unique, but some common improvements include: more energy, fewer digestive symptoms, balanced hormones, improved cycles, better sleep, clearer skin, easier weight management, and greater mental clarity.

We track lab markers, energy levels, digestion, menstrual cycles, sleep quality, and even mood. Health is much more than a number on the scale, and often the most meaningful wins are the ones you feel.

These services are ideal for individuals seeking a customized, test-based approach to wellness. Perfect for those ready to uncover hidden health imbalances, gain clarity, and take actionable steps toward building a strong foundation for long-term vitality and balance.

Yes. Whether you’re preparing for pregnancy, navigating perimenopause, or looking to support men’s vitality, functional nutrition has powerful tools to optimize health in every stage of life.

Yes! With my background in midwifery and perinatal nutrition, supporting women during fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum is one of my specialties. Proper nutrition during this time impacts both mom and baby for years to come.

Yes. I often support children and teens with issues like allergies, digestion, fatigue, or ADHD-type symptoms. Family nutrition can be life-changing, and I tailor my recommendations to be realistic for parents.

All packages include testing, personalized care and lab review. The difference lies in the level of depth, number of sessions, and amount of between-session support. Lite is best for those wanting a starting point, Standard provides more in-depth testing and short-term support, and Gold is for those wanting more follow-up and accountability.

Most advanced labs are not covered by insurance. However, many clients use HSA/FSA funds to pay for both labs and services. I’ll always be transparent about costs before ordering.

Standard labs are helpful, but they often only flag disease when it’s already advanced. Functional labs look at subtler imbalances—like how well you’re digesting food, balancing hormones, or detoxifying. These insights allow us to intervene before things become major health concerns.

No. Labs are tools, not requirements. I’ll suggest the ones that will give us the most insight into your situation. Some clients start with a single test; others want a full panel for a deep dive. It’s flexible based on your needs and budget.

Absolutely. If you have recent bloodwork, DUTCH, GI-MAP, or other tests, I can interpret them through a functional lens. Often, “normal” results still reveal valuable patterns when we use optimal ranges instead of standard lab cutoffs.

Depending on your package, you may have portal/email access for quick questions between sessions. I want you to feel supported without having to wait weeks for an answer. For Gold-level clients, concierge-style support is also available.

It depends on the individual. Some clients feel a difference within weeks, especially with energy, digestion, or sleep. For deeper imbalances (hormones, minerals, autoimmunity, etc.), true healing can take several months. My goal is to give you both quick wins and long-term solutions.

Yes, all sessions are conducted virtually, allowing for flexible scheduling and comfort from home. This makes it easy to stay connected, review lab results, and receive expert guidance without geographical limitations, ensuring consistent progress throughout the health journey.

Yes, flexible payment options are available. I want you to get the care you need without unnecessary stress.

Yes, many of my clients successfully use their HSA/FSA funds for both services and lab work.

I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Most insurance does not cover this type of service though. We have to remember how insurance billing is a system of codes for medical necessity. Things are covered based on the correct codes, showing a medical need. Most of what we do in functional health is not yet recognized as medical necessity by insurance because it does not lead to a course of medical treatment.

Minerals are the spark plugs of the body. They control everything from energy production to hormone balance. Without balanced minerals, nothing else works optimally. This is why I often recommend Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) to uncover hidden patterns.

HTMA is a simple test that analyzes the mineral content of your hair. It reveals long-term mineral patterns, stress response, and even toxic metal accumulation. It’s an incredible window into how your body is functioning behind the scenes.

If your gut isn’t absorbing nutrients, your body won’t have the raw materials needed for hormone production. Poor digestion also drives inflammation, which disrupts hormone balance. Healing digestion is almost always step one for hormone health.
